What does it mean to be good at scripting?

  • People ask a lot, "Are you good at scripting?", and often I'm not sure how to respond. I'll say I'm okay.

What does it really mean to be good at scripting?

    I said this:
"It means you know how to solve problems and find the solution, even if you don't know it off the top of your head."

Sorta a bare-bones definition. Is it accurate, or is there something you would add/remove?

  • I believe this a spot on definition of "being good at scripting." To add to your definition though, being good at scripting means knowing basic keywords off the top of your head, as well as syntax.
